Government warns against middlemen

SEMARANG: The government warned civil servant hopefuls on Friday to be wary of middlemen offering to help them through the application process.

State Minister for Administrative Reform Taufik Effendi said middlemen were widespread but difficult to eradicate.

"The application process is computerized and tightly supervised by specific officials. Please report to the authorities if any middlemen approach you," he said.

Taufik also said his office would work with local police departments to fight middlemen.

"I urge local administrations to place advertisements in local newspapers to warn the public about middlemen," Taufik said. -- Antara
