Government to tender 16 toll road projects
JAKARTA (JP): The government announced yesterday the tender of 16 toll road projects covering 485 kilometers in Java and Sumatra.
An executive of the state-owned toll-road operator PT Jasa Marga, Abdul Hadi, said that the projects would require a total investment of about Rp 9 trillion (US$3.67 billion).
"Many overseas and local firms have expressed an interest in the projects and they now can obtain the bidding documents for the tender," he said.
He said that registration of bidders would be from July 14 to July 25, while a technical briefing on the projects was scheduled for July 29.
Interested parties would have the chance to submit their preliminary proposals between July 30 and Sept. 9, and documents of investment proposals between Dec. 16 and Feb. 27, 1998, he added.
"The winners will be announced by Minister of Public Works Radinal Moochtar between Jan. 23 and Feb. 27. Contracts will be awarded between Jan. 27 and March 10," Hadi was quoted by Antara as saying.
The projects are: the road connecting Surakarta and Mantingan in Central Java (20 km), Mantingan-Ngawi in East Java (35 km), Ngawi-Caruban in East Java (34 km), Medan-Binjai in North Sumatra (25 km), the 27-km toll road linking Medan-Kualanamu in North Sumatra, Serpong-Parung Panjang (30 km), Cilegon-Bojanegara (10 km), Cilegon-Labuan (65 km) and the 10-km Tangerang outer ring road, all in West Java, the 15.5-km freeway linking Serpong and Tangerang in West Java, Antasari-Depok in Central Java (17 km), Serpong-Parung in West Java (17 km), Cibadak-Pelabuhan Ratu (30 km) in West Java , Kualanamu-Tebingtinggi in North Sumatra (45 km), Bandar Lampung-Terbanggi Besar (50 km) and Bandar Lampung- Panjang (25 km) in southern Sumatra.
