Good judgment needed

In the context of the conditions and situation in which we currently find ourselves, any lack of good judgment will only lead to more problems that could be much more complicated than one might expect.

For example, the case of the missing persons has demonstrated just how high a price the whole nation must pay because of the actions of a few irresponsible individuals. We hope, therefore, that all concerned parties will start to openly discuss the possibilities that Indonesia may face in the future.

A willingness to be open is extremely important if a feeling of mutual trust is to be forged among us, and will also help to clear the air of suspicion. More importantly, keeping an open attitude makes it possible for all parties involved to expound their respective visions and perspectives. Only in this way can we elude the adverse consequences that may arise from failing to correctly interpret the signs of the times and the changes that are taking place in society. It may also prevent this nation from repeating the many tragedies of the past.
