Golkar to hold national meeting
MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: The Golkar Party will hold a national meeting from July 4 through 6 in Makassar, South Sulawesi, to introduce the party's nine presidential candidates.
At the meeting, Golkar's presidential candidates will deliver their visions and agendas for Indonesia's future development.
Golkar chairman Akbar Tandjung said on Saturday in Makassar that the presence of presidential candidates at the meeting was part of the attempt to prepare them for the party's national meeting in October.
Golkar, which came second in the 1999 election, plans to hold a national convention in February next year to choose the party's presidential candidate. --JP
