Golkar targets 10% of votes in regions
PEKANBARU: The Golkar party is aiming for at least 10 percent of all votes in every region in the coming 2004 general election.
"There will be about 143 million voters in the coming election. Golkar party has set a target of about 10 percent of the votes from each region," Golkar Chairman Akbar Tandjung said at the opening ceremony of the party chapter meeting in Pekanbaru on Saturday.
He said Golkar had about 5 million voters so far and if the target of 10 percent was reached as minimum in each regency, the party might win the election. --Antara
