Golkar rebuked for poll violations

PALU, Central Sulawesi: Central Sulawesi's Election Supervisory Committee (Panwasda) reprimanded on Tuesday Golkar Party for the display of Golkar flags and the unfurling of Golkar banners in the compound of the governor's office and the high prosecutor's office.

Aminuddin Kasim, the chairman of Panwaslu, said that, this time, the committee had only rebuked Golkar Party leaders in the province, but sterner measures would be taken next time.

Helmy D. Yambas, the deputy secretary of Golkar Party's Central Sulawesi chapter, said that Golkar had not encouraged the action. He added that he would order party members to remove the party paraphernalia. -- JP
