Golkar accused of Manokwari poll fix

MANOKWARI, Irian Jaya: Local representatives from 19 political
parties have refused to endorse the final results of the general
election in Manokwari regency, accusing the Golkar Party of
campaign violations.

The local spokesman for the Indonesian Democratic Party of
Struggle, Ade Hehatubun, told The Jakarta Post here on Thursday
that in Windesi and Babo districts, the total number of votes for
Golkar did not correspond to the number of voters.

Raubaba alleged that Golkar "distributed" money shortly before
the polls.

He said that from Rp 1 million to Rp 7.5 million was
distributed for the stated purpose of the construction of houses
