Golfers to join St. Patrick Blues

JAKARTA (JP): More than 120 national and international golfers
will attend the St. Patrick Blues' golf tournament at the
Imperial Golf Club at Lippo Karawaci, Tangerang, on Friday.

Golf club sales and public relations manager Perucha Hutagaol,
said in a release on Thursday that the tournament, which offers
trophies and various prizes from sponsors, would apply the United
States Golf Association (USGA) rules and have a 36 handicapping
system.

She said a handicap limit for male golfers was 24 and 28 for
women.

"The 1999 best gross overall, Mr. Alan, will also compete in
this event. The winners are divided into three categories: best
Nett I, II and III from the A Flight, B Flight and Ladies
Flight," she said.

Perucha said the tournament would also award individuals'
abilities, such as "the longest drive" and "the nearest to the
pin".

The tournament coincides with the traditional Irish holiday of
St. Patrick's Day on March 17. The holiday commemorates St.
Patrick, a patron saint and apostle of Ireland. (ivy)
