Going digital

I was ready to write a letter of complaint about having to buy a new box to watch Indovision's digital TV, when my landlord offered me the use of his son's system until he moved. Great!

Imagine being able to watch Formula One again. Or Ronaldinho wrecking havoc with the other team's defense and Guga Kuerten thrashing tennis players? All that sport live and with good quality pictures and sound.

It does not happen all the time but on occasions my coach potato experience is rudely interrupted. Guga serves, the screen goes black and the next thing I see is his opponent complaining to the umpire. In Formula One a car starts overtaking, the screen goes black, the next image is a big cloud of dust. I am missing all the action.

Football is even more frustrating. Ronaldinho dodges two defenders, escapes from a tackle, the crowd stands up, the goalkeeper freezes, the crowd goes wild, the screen goes black and the next thing I see is the ball inside the net.

Imagine Brazil playing the World Cup finals next year in France and the screen going black. If someone lays a fiber optical cable down Jl. Sukahaji and offers first class TV service he will have a customer from day one. Don't worry, I will buy the new box this time.
