GMI expects growth of 30%-50%
JAKARTA: PT General Motors Indonesia (GMI) is expecting sales growth of some 30 percent to 50 percent this year, compared to last year's figures, in which it sold 4,000 vehicles.
The company, which handles Chevrolet, is optimistic about the growth after the legislative election went smoothly, GMI's director of sales and marketing, Antonio Zara, told The Jakarta Post.
In 2002, the company booked sales of some 2,000 vehicles.
Currently, GMI offers Aveo, Blazer, Optra, Tavera, Spark and Zafira models.
Zara was speaking on Thursday during the opening of GMI's 47th dealership on Jl. Sahardjo, South Jakarta operated by PT Surya Sinergi Transportama under the Allbrite brand name.
The new dealership is also GMI's 45th service center for Chevrolet vehicles nationwide, while for Allbrite it is its fourth dealership. -- JP
