Girl drowns in Pulau Seribu

JAKARTA (JP): A vacation trip turned into tragedy on Saturday
when Yu Chun Wei, 8, a Taiwanese national, drowned while swimming
with her father Yu Chung Hok in Pulau Putri in the Pulau Seribu
marine resort, North Jakarta, an officer said.

"They were both swimming that evening when Yu Chun Wei
suddenly sank. We believe she had a cramp," City Police spokesman
Lt. Col. Zainuri Lubis told reporters on Sunday.

"When her father managed to bring her ashore her, she was
already dead," he added, while saying Yu Chung Hok then reported
the case to Pulau Seribu police sub-precinct. (nvn)
