Getting there

The best option is to fly. Both Merpati and Pelita operate
flights from Bali to Labuanbajo. It's best to book your flight at
least 10 days ahead of time, and make sure that you reconfirm
before leaving Flores.

Flights are around Rp 750,000 to Labuanbajo, and Rp 600,000 to
Ende or Maumere, from Bali, one way.

There are also four-day backpacker-oriented boat trips that
stop at the islands of Rinca and Komodo that can be arranged to
or from Lombok for about Rp 450,000. Traveling overland from
Bali is slow, takes about three arduous days and is about Rp
400,000.

Diving from Labuanbajo is about US$55/day (2 dives) including
lunch and transport or $140 for six dives. Dive boats also
operate in Komodo National Park for about $200/day.
