Germany to help horticulture center

SEMARANG, Central Java: Indonesia's Association of Horticulture Businesspeople (Asperti) and the German government have agreed to cooperate in the construction of an agribusiness training center.

"The German government will send two experts," Asperti chairman Doddy Satrya Indrawan said as quoted by Antara here on Thursday.

He said the provincial government provided a 30-hectare plot for the training center where farmers and students will spend between three months and four months.

According to Doddy, the German trainers will have considerable experience in the field.

It was not immediately known when the center would formally begin operations. (mds)
