Germany provides medical supplies

JAKARTA (JP): Germany's Federal Office of Civil Protection has donated medical equipment worth 1.5 million marks (about US$800,000) to the Social Foundation for People's Development. The aid is earmarked for hospitals and orphanages in Flores, Lombok, Ambon and Sorong.

The aid, which arrived earlier this month in Jakarta -- will soon be distributed to areas in eastern Indonesia.

The aid is a joint effort of the German government, a German non-governmental organization Floreshilfe and Komrowski Maritim and Allianz firms. (edt)
