German national commits suicide

JAKARTA: A German national was found hanged from the roof of Kresna hotel on Jl. Jaksa, Central Jakarta, where he was staying. It is believed that he committed suicide.

Sixty-six-year-old Happe Klaus, who had been living in Bali for the past eight years before traveling to Jakarta, was brought to the morgue at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital at 11:30 a.m., with a white rope still tied around his neck.

According to another German tourist at the hotel, who refused to be identified, Klaus was in distress lately after he had been rejected by a woman who currently resides in Yogyakarta.

He added that Klaus was a pensioner and could speak fluent Bahasa Indonesia.--JP
