German aid for RI projects
JAKARTA (JP): Representatives from the German and Indonesian governments yesterday signed an agreement on economic cooperation worth a total of DM 149.5 million (US$96,265) in aid.
The agreement marks the end of the annual bilateral negotiations on development cooperation which took place here from Sept. 19 to 21, 1994.
During the negotiations, Indonesia was represented by Deputy Chairman of the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) Rustam Didong, while Wolf Preuss, the Director General of the Federal Ministry for Foreign Economic Cooperation and Development represented the German government.
Out of the funds being appropriated, DM 110 is given as a soft loan for health projects and the promotion of small businesses in East Java.
The remaining DM 39.5 is part of a technical assistance grant focusing on rural development, education, environment and forestry management.
The signing of the agreement was conducted here yesterday by Preuss and Noor Handono, acting director general of foreign economic relations from the Indonesian foreign ministry.(mds)
