Geothermal seminar in Bali

JAKARTA (JP): IBC Asia Ltd., in cooperation with the
International Institute of Geothermal Research and Geothermal
Energy Association, will organize a seminar in Bali called
"Geothermal Power in Asia '97 Conference" from Feb. 24 to 28.

The company announced yesterday geothermal experts from
Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, New Zealand, Turkey, Hong
Kong, U.S. and the U.K. would talk about geothermal development,
tax incentives, technology transfer, risk management and
international financing during the conference.

Regional focus on geothermal power has continued to gather
interest against a backdrop of strong government support for
cleaner energy, the company said.

"To date, geothermal development has succeeded in attracting
substantial international funds particularly in Indonesia and the
Philippines," the company said. (bnt)
