Gemala Container's Rp 92b debt

I refer to a report in a number of newspapers about a Rp 92 billion debt and would like to ask H. Gozali, director of PT Gemala Container the following:

1. What were the steps taken by Gemala with Bank Indonesia that exempted the Rp 92 billion debt from interest payments while Bank Negara Indonesia continues to pay interest to Gemala on the latter's deposit amounting to Rp 40 billion? Other businessmen need to know the procedure so their businesses run smoothly and they can obtain new loans and settle old loans as favorably.

2. What steps and what calculations were applied to result in settlement of the Rp 92 billion loan in August 2005 and not in 184 years as put forward by Coordinating Minister for Economy, Finance and Industry Kwik Kian Gie and House of Representatives Commission IX member Usman Ermulan?

This must be announced so that the community is not startled and confused. It will benefit transparency and also give us courage to justify professionally the statements we make.

Besides, if it is proven that Sofyan Wanandi was actively involved in obtaining the Rp 92 billion loan, it is very improper for him to remain as chairman of the National Business Development Council (DPUN), while his own business is not in good order. He should concentrate on putting his business in order first, settling his debts properly, then he can contribute his energy and thoughts on a national scale at the council.

I eagerly anticipate reading the explanation of H. Gozali or another authorized person at PT Gemala Container so the controversy can be ended.
