GE launches e-shopping site

JAKARTA (JP): PT GE Finance Indonesia, a subsidiary of the United States-based GE Capital, launched on Tuesday an internet shopping site www.GetEkstra.com, offering some 300 products ranging from household appliances, electronics, computers to cameras.

GE Finance's project director Mia Patria Bernardhi said shoppers could pay for their purchases by credit card or in installments of up to 24 months.

"To be eligible for installment payments, all the customer has to do is fax us his or her salary slip," she said in a media conference, adding that the processing period for approvals could take at least three days.

GE Capital, a financial credit division of General Electric, started operations in Indonesia five years ago. (10)
