Gaudi works exhibited

JAKARTA: The Spanish Embassy is putting on display photographs of over 100 works of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi in an exhibition to commemorate his 150th anniversary at the National Archive Building on Jl. Gajah Mada, Central Jakarta, from June 25 to July 4.

The exhibition, which was inaugurated by Minister for Culture and Tourism I Gde Ardika, displays the pictures of Gaudi's works of buildings, palaces and parks, which were taken by Indonesian photographer Lau and architect Andrea Peresthu.

Gaudi, who lived between 1852 and 1926, is widely regarded to have been one of the world's most creative modernist architects. His unique style blended neo-gothic touches with art nouveau and surrealism. -- JP
