Gas station polluted wells, say residents

DEPOK: Nineteen residents of Rangkapan Jaya Baru subdistrict in Depok accused on Thursday a nearby gas station of polluting their well.

"Our wells have been polluted since last year. We have to buy water to drink," a resident, Tuti, said. The station was established in 2003, he said.

He said residents had lodged complaints to the subdistrict office three times but had got no response.

On Tuesday, the residents reported the pollution to the Depok municipal administration and police checked several residents wells. --Antara
