Garuda's service

From Media Indonesia

I was very much disappointed at the services in the Left Luggage Department of Garuda airlines. Along with other delegates to the 'Korean-ASEAN Youth Cooperative Project' program I flew Korean Air from Seoul to Jakarta, flight No CGK KE 627/16 and tag number KE 833311.

On arrival at Soekarno-Hatta Airport I found out that my bag had not arrived. I reported the matter to Garuda and after waiting for over one hour, I was told that the luggage would arrive the next day (Nov. 17, 1994).

The next day I contacted Garuda at the airport, but my bag did not turn up and they said the bag was sent to Japan by mistake. Garuda promised to contact me if the bag arrived. I waited several days and nothing happened. I still had patience and hoped I would get my bag.

Garuda asked me to contact Korean Air. I was informed that it was Garuda which should be responsible for this matter because Korean Air had paid Garuda for such arrangements.

Garuda did not even consider to compensate my lost bag which, including its contents, was worth about US$ 2,500. I call Garuda's attention to such small matters if it wants to maintain its good reputation.
