Garuda's regular flights to Jeddah

From Neraca

Garuda Indonesia is still running regular Jakarta-Jeddah flights three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The flight numbers are GA-990, Jakarta-Jeddah, and GA-991 for Jeddah- Jakarta.

The information that Garuda has stopped these flights since April 25 for an indefinite period, which was carried by several sources of media, is just not true. Reasons mentioned were that the plane was reserved for the second haj homecoming.

Garuda Indonesia has never combined regular flights with the haj pilgrimage, not even this year.

This year, Garuda chartered 24 wide-bodies from several foreign airlines, including World Airways, Kuwait Air, SIA, OAM France, Tower Air, Air Canada and Britannia. Regular flights are flown by Garuda itself.

Garuda's regular Jakarta-Jeddah route is a marketable venture. Closure or temporary closure of this flight route is, therefore, unthinkable.
