Garuda to resume KL flights
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia Airlines said on Monday it would reopen the route linking Medan, North Sumatra to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, using Boeing 737's starting in March 2000.
Iriansyah Antemas, the company's international marketing officer said in Pekan Baru, Riau, Garuda was ready to compete with other airlines who also serve the destination.
In July 1999, he said, due to the economic crisis, the company had to reduce its international flight frequency as part of massive cost-cutting measures to cope with the economic crisis. (06)
