Garuda, Telkom sign deal

JAKARTA (JP): State-owned airline Garuda Indonesia will offer a special rate to PT Telkom's employees and their families.

Garuda president Soepandi said here yesterday the airline had signed an agreement with Telkom offering the special rate as part of Garuda's efforts to increase ticket sales which have dropped due to the economic crisis.

"This is part of our concrete steps to cope with the current economic crisis," he said.

He said Garuda would also seek similar agreements with other state-owned and private corporations in Indonesia in the future. (aly)
