Garuda joins Jakarta Great Sale
JAKARTA: Airline Garuda Indonesia is participating in the one- month Jakarta Great Sale by offering Shopping Package 2002 involving 16 three- and four-star hotels in the city.
As part of the package, both locals and foreigners will enjoy three days' and two nights' accommodation, two-way airport transfer and breakfast.
The package is on offer from June 14 to July 14 for travelers departing from 20 cities in the country. It is free with the purchase of return tickets from Jayapura, Timika, Biak, Manado, Makassar and Medan. Those leaving from other cities have to add Rp 21,200.
It is also included in the return ticket from Singapore (US$179), Bangkok (US$270) and Kuala Lumpur (US$144).
The event is organized as part of the city's anniversary celebration.
This year's Jakarta Great Sale is also expected to boost business through discounted packages for both local and foreign visitors. It is expected to secure Rp 3.7 trillion (about US$380 million) in revenue.
It will offer discounts of 20 percent to 70 percent in shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants, department stores and factory outlets.
The Jakarta Great Sale, to be held for the sixth time here, used to be known as the Discount Fair or Shopping Festival.--JP
