Garuda, DAMRI to serve APEC
The organizing committee of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum has signed an agreement with the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia to arrange the ground handling and the technical maintenance of planes carrying foreign delegates.
Under the agreement, Garuda will assign some of its technicians and place special equipment at Soekarno-Hatta international airport in Cengkareng, 20 kilometers west of here, and Halim Perdanakusumah airport in East Jakarta.
The company will handle the arrival and departure arrangements of all foreign delegates who will attend the summit to be held in Bogor, West Java, and Jakarta from Nov. 8 to 16.
Garuda will also install 40 automatic reservation display networks called Automatic Reservation Garuda Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Operation Director of DAMRI, a state-owned bus company, said that it will provide 30 air-conditioned buses for participants of the meeting. (mas)
