Gang robs fertilizer

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: A gang of thieves robbed four tons
of fertilizer belonging to a distributor, PT Pandagaran, in
Banyumas, near here at dawn on Thursday.

Security guards of the company Mihardjo and Warsiman, said the
robbers removed all the fertilizer when they went out for coffee.
The food stall is situated 500 meters from the firm.

"The robbers did everything quickly and professionally,"
Mihardjo said, adding that he and his colleague only saw the
robbers' truck speed off as they returned to work.

Banyumas Police chief Lt. Col. Johnny Hutahuruk said late
Thursday they had no clues relating to the gang's identity and
whereabouts.

"This is classified as a new type of robbery. I guess they
will sell the fertilizer," Johnny said. The distributor claimed
Rp 10 million (US$1,160) in losses. (45)
