Gadjah Tunggal's income up

JAKARTA (JP): PT Gadjah Tunggal posted a 21 percent increase
in net income to Rp 94 billion (US$40 million) in the first nine
months of this year, up from Rp 78 billion for the same period
last year.

The company, a publicly-listed tire producer, announced
yesterday its income growth resulted from increased sales, lower
production costs and more production.

Consolidated sales rose 28 percent to Rp 673 billion in the
January-September period this year from Rp 523 billion for the
corresponding period in 1995. (hen)
