Futsal feast with Ronny Pattinasarani

JAKARTA (JP): If your kids have so much energy on the weekends that it leaves you rattled, you may want to take them to a nearby McDonald's fast food restaurant and register for a one-day futsal game with former Indonesian soccer star Ronny Pattinasarani and other soccer players.

The 'McFutsal with Ronny Pattinasarani' program is being organized by the futsal team of the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and McDonald's Indonesia, and is aimed at promoting futsal to the wider community before the 2002 Asian Futsal Championships, which will be hosted by Indonesia.

"With the 'McFutsal with Ronny Pattinasarani' campaign, we have started a crash program as suggested by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and PSSI to popularize the sport to everybody, particularly youngsters," said BS Dharma, McDonald's Indonesia director of marketing and communication.

The program, which is targeting the elementary school and junior high school students, is currently available in the Greater Jakarta area. (ivy)
