Futsal coaching attracts 100

JAKARTA (JP): About 100 coaches and referees attended the futsal coaching clinic, which was jointly held by the futsal team of the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) and McDonald's Indonesia at Padjadjaran sports hall in Bandung from Thursday to Saturday.

The number of participants sets a new record for the number of coaches and referees to take part in such a clinic. Previous events in Jakarta attracted 44 participants, Surabaya, 61, Denpasar, 80, and Purwokerto, 57. The clinic will be followed by a futsal exhibition match between local Persib players and former soccer players from West Java.

"As one of the centers of soccer development, Bandung does not want to be left behind in the futsal campaign," said Risnandar, chief organizer and former Persib's head coach.

Community marketing manager of the national futsal's main sponsor McDonald's Indonesia, Cepi S. Husada, said that the clinic was aimed at netting talented futsal players. "We want the community in Bandung and other provinces in Indonesia to love sport. We are sure that futsal can unite brotherhood through sportsmanship," he said. (ivy)
