Fuji camera spare parts

Some time ago I had my camera (Model DL-80 DATE) repaired at Fuji Image Plaza, Matraman Branch, which is supposed to be Fuji's biggest service center. The counter salesman took my camera with my approval after quoting me an estimated maximum cost of Rp 150,000 and said the camera would be ready in one week.

After one week I went back to collect my camera but to my surprise, it was given back to me without being repaired because the spare parts were not available. On the receipt was written "D" which the salesman could not explain. Dissatisfied with his answer, I spoke to the technician, Mr. Yulianto but he could not give me a satisfactory answer either. He just told me the broken parts were Rewind PCB and Rewind Switch and confirmed that they were not available.

It was not until I spoke to the manager, Mr. Hendra that I was told "D" stands for "discontinue", meaning the factory in Japan no longer produces those parts. The last production of this model was in 1995. I was asked to check with them again in one or two months but they could not guarantee they would be able to get the parts. According to the manager, the same parts had been ordered from Japan earlier but there had been no reply yet.

Does it mean that Fuji is no longer responsible for the spare parts if one model has been out of production for five years? I would be grateful if Fuji management would respond.
