Fuel prices decline

State oil and gas company Pertamina said fuel prices for industry in November would decline slightly from prices the previous month.

Kerosene would be sold at Rp 960 per liter in November, down from Rp 1,070 in October, the company announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Automotive diesel oil will decline to Rp 945 per liter from Rp 1,000, while industrial diesel oil will be sold at Rp 920 per liter, down from Rp 975.

The price for fuel oil will decrease to Rp 715 from Rp 755.

The price for Premium gasoline will remain at Rp 1,450 per liter.

Pertamina has been changing its selling price for fuel for domestic industrial customers every month since April this year, depending on the international price. Under the existing regulation, the prices are capped at 50 percent of international prices.

Foreign oil and gas, mining and shipping companies, however, have to buy fuel at international prices.

For household customers, motorists and public buses, Pertamina sells its fuel far cheaper thanks to the government's subsidy, which is Rp 400 per liter for kerosene, Rp 900 per liter for automotive diesel oil, Rp 1,450 per liter for premium gasoline, Rp 1,900 per liter for premix gasoline and Rp 2,000 for super unleaded gasoline. --JP
