Fuad family receives donations

YOGYAKARTA: Donations and condolences continue to flow in for
the family of Fuad Muhammad Syafrudin, the reporter who was
stabbed to death by a gang of thugs last month.

Yesterday, cash donations came from the Bandung-based Pikiran
Rakyat daily newspaper on behalf of various organizations in the
capital of West Java.

Donations have also come from the Association of Indonesian
Journalists and organizations in North Sumatra, Central Java and
Jakarta, Antara said.

Police are still investigating the murder, which some believe
was provoked by Fuad's critical articles in the Yogyakarta-based
newspaper Bernas. (emb)
