Free of charge

This is in reference to Connie Teo's letter Kodak clarifies (The Jakarta Post, May 17) which was in response to my letter Not a pretty picture in the Post of May 13.

Here are a few comparisons for Kodak.

A few weeks ago I brought back my printer Hewlett Packard 1100A which was serviced free of charge. The service, which took only one day, was performed by Hewlett Packard Indonesia.

About two months ago, I had my cellular phone Motorolla V-series serviced because the LCD light was off when opened. Again, no service charge.

Also, my speaker for the PC-Altec (Express Utama) with subwoofer damage was serviced three times by the distributor in Indonesia at no charge.

All the above were handled by distributors in Indonesia and were not sent to Singapore. They were handled professionally with no questions asked -- and no blah, blah, blah.
