Free medical treatment in Bekasi
BEKASI (JP): The wives of Bekasi Administration officials yesterday held a free clinic in Samudra Jaya village, a less developed village in the regency.
Mrs. Sophia Jamhari, the wife of Bekasi Regent, who led the relief work, was accompanied by five doctors and 15 paramedics. She also gave the village people a truck load of clothes.
Mrs. Nemin, 60, one of the impoverished residents, said she was grateful to receive a free medical checkup as she had been suffering from various illnesses but didn't have enough money to pay medical expenses herself.
Mrs. Boih, 54, who came from the neighboring village Babelan, said she went straight to Samudra Jaya as soon as she heard that the regent's wife had arrived with free medical treatment. She also received free medication. (12/mas)
