Free goods from PKP

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Free basic needs were available at the campaign site of the Justice and Unity Party (PKP) at the youth center here. Executives of the local branch said this was their own initiative and not based on instructions of their headquarters.

Resident Syarifah and a number of other PKP supporters said they hoped the party would continue to provide free basic needs.

In response to why such a program was conducted chairman of the East Medan branch of the party, Suhendra Kasim, only said it was a continuation of the activities of local activists and students who are used to distributing basic goods here.

"All funds of Rp 9 million were contributed from the 20 of us (party members)," Suhendra said. (39)
