France ignores public will

Arrogance and stubbornness are the plain attitudes which the French government shows to the world, regarding the global protests to its decision to resume nuclear tests in the Pacific.

The decision is of the government, by the government, and for the government. It definitely ignores what Jean-Jacques Rousseau -- philosopher of French Revolution -- formulated. La volonte generale (public will) seems to be thrown away.

Due to the target-oriented status, I think, the "show" must go on, no matter what happens. Ecological impacts on the Pacific countries as a result of nuclear tests might mean nothing to the French government. This is another chauvinistic point of view of a government which sometimes lectures on democracy.
