Fourteen nabbed in concert brawl

JAKARTA: Fourteen people were arrested on Wednesday night
while 10 police officers were injured in a clash at the Bung
Karno Sports Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta.

Angry concertgoers became violent and threw stones at parked
cars, damaging 23 of them, after they were denied entry to the
concert where TransTV staged performances of, among others, noted
singer Iwan Fals and Slank rock group in commemorating its third
anniversary.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Tjiptono said that the
incident started at around 9:10 p.m. The police have questioned
three police officers as witnesses. -- JP
