Four villagers drown in flood

MEDAN, North Sumatra: Four people drowned after flash floods struck Muara Bolak Barus village in Tapanuli Tengah regency, Antara reported yesterday.

The floods hit the area on Saturday night after the Aek Rogas and Aek Bolak rivers overflowed following heavy rain.

Dozens of houses were damaged in the flood.

The floods were totally unexpected as people were still recovering from the drought. (emb)
