Four pickpockets caught red-handed

Police arrested four pickpockets who were caught in the very act of stealing money from a schoolgirl on the pedestrian bridge near the Blok M Plaza mall on Sunday.

The four suspects identified as Yan, Nic, Kar and Rif, all in their early twenties, were taken to the Kebayoran Baru police precinct for further questioning.

The schoolgirl, Aji Nastasia Falen, 16, told police that when she was walking down the bridge to go the mall to buy shoes, two men pushed her from behind while the other two stood in her path.

She only realized that they were pickpockets when she found the money in her bag missing. She then reported to two policemen who were standing nearby. The policemen swiftly acted and managed to capture the four suspects, Pos Kota reported. (bas)
