Four nabbed for private TV porn

JAKARTA: Four persons identified as Aheng, Liliani Ukardi,
Chuah Sioe Luan and Rudi, were recently arrested for illegally
broadcasting foreign and pornographic programs to their customers
across the city, police said on Monday.

City Police special crime unit chief Sr. Comr. Syahrul Mamma
said that the four suspects sold satellite dishes, decoders and a
special card to their customers to enable them to watch foreign
programs for Rp 3.8 million, while many of their customers also
subscribed to adult programs for an additional Rp 900,000 a
month.

"They have to have a license to relay foreign programs. They
are also prohibited from broadcasting pornography," Syahrul said.

The suspects will likely be charged with Articles 11 and 47 of
Law No. 36/1999 on telecommunications with the minimum punishment
of six years in jail and Article 282 of the Criminal Code with
the minimum punishment of two years in prison. --JP
