Four houses catch fire

JAKARTA: Two separate fires burned down four houses on Monday afternoon. No injuries or fatalities were reported in either incident.

The first destroyed three houses on Jl. Talang, Pegangsaan, Central Jakarta. The fire department deployed at least 14 fire trucks to douse the flames, which were extinguished at 3:30 p.m.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire.

The second fire burned down a house in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, early Monday.

East Jakarta Fire Department worker Yanto said six fire trucks were sent to the scene.

Firefighters managed to put out the fire half an hour after it broke out at 1 p.m. --JP
