Four die in traffic accident in Cirebon
CIREBON, West Java: A commercial bus crashed into a truck carrying cement in Cirebon regency late on Tuesday, leaving four people dead and five others injured.
Among the dead was Tayoni, 30, the truck driver's assistant, who was a resident of Majalengka regency in West Java. The three other fatalities were bus passengers.
The accident occurred as the bus was heading west from Kudus, Central Java, to Jakarta, said Cirebon Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Bambang Susamto. The bus driver apparently lost control of the vehicle when the brakes failed, and the bus rammed into the back of the truck. -- JP
