Four die in road accident

PALU, Central Sulawesi: A speeding truck smashed head-on into
a parked truck on the Trans Sulawesi highway in Siney village in
Donggala on Saturday, killing four people instantly and severely
injuring another.

Donggala Police Chief Lt. Col. Adrizal Adna said three dead
victims, identified as Ramli, 35, Yudi, 25 and Hariadi, 23, were
respectively the driver and driver assistants of the parked
truck.

Adrizal said the fourth victim, identified as Wartaji, 65, was
a passenger of the speeding truck, while the injured victim was
Mardia, the truck owner.

"The victims died of head injuries," Adrizal was quoted by
Antara as saying.

He said Agung, 23, the driver of the speeding truck, managed
to escape injury and was being questioned by police. (jun)
