Four colleges receive grant

JAKARTA (JP): Vice Governor on Economics and Development Tb. M. Rais handed over about Rp 1.4 billion (US$622,000) in grants to four state universities yesterday.

The money will be used to finance scientific projects, including research and seminars.

The four universities are the University of Indonesia, the University of Padjadjaran, Bandung, the Bandung Institute of Technology and the Jakarta Teachers Training Institute.

The University of Indonesia received more than Rp 700 million while the Bandung Institute of Technology and the Padjadjaran University received Rp 220 million each for conducting scientific projects at each campus.

The teachers institute received Rp 205 million. Dr. Ana Suhaena Suparno, the rector, symbolically received the grant at City Hall. (05)
