Four bombs found in Dumai house
PEKANBARU, Riau: Riau Police discovered on Wednesday four home-made bombs in a house in the Dumai area, which they believe would have been used to attack churches around Christmas time.
In the house, which was unoccupied, police also found a military-style shirt, binoculars decorated with a hammer and sickle (the symbol of the defunct Indonesian Communist Party) and several documents -- a "Jamaah Islamiyah Jihad Agreement", a list of phone numbers, religious books and a trading agreement document.
Dumai Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Khaidir Ismanto Siregar said the bombs would likely have been used to attack churches ahead of Christmas celebrations. -- JP
