Foundation's chief to queried

JAKARTA: The Attorney General's Office is scheduled to summon Raudhlatul Jannah Foundation chairman Dadang Sukandar on Wednesday as a witness in an alleged corruption case of Rp 40 billion of funds belonging to the State Logistics Agency (Bulog), which has implicated several executives of the Golkar Party.

"We (the Attorney General's Office) have sent a letter to summon Dadang Sukandar, and it (the letter) was addressed to the House of Representatives housing complex on Jl. Batu Sari No. VI, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta," Office spokesman Muljohardjo told the press on Monday.

Muljohardjo said that his office currently would not summon speaker of the House of Representatives Akbar Tandjung, former Armed Forces chief Wiranto, and former Bulog chief Rahardi Ramelan for further questioning, saying that "the investigations of these three officials is enough."

He also said that the office has yet to set a schedule to summon former president B.J. Habibie.

As reported earlier, Rahardi, a suspect in the case, revealed that some Rp 54.6 billion of Bulog funds, were partly given to Akbar -- who at the time was the State/Cabinet Secretary -- and Wiranto, for different purposes.
