Former child star facing jail
JAKARTA: Former child singer Joan Tanamal is facing possible
jail time for the possession of 0.1142 grams of heroin.
Prosecutor Sumino asked the South Jakarta District Court to
sentence the 31-year-old defendant, whose real name is Johanna
Maria Tanamal, to 18 months in prison and also to fine her Rp 50
million, or give her another four months in jail, Antara
reported.
Joan, who was popular in the 1970s, was arrested with several
other people for the possession of putauw (low-grade heroin) when
the police raided a house on Jl. Sawo in South Jakarta on June 5.
