ABN AMRO Bank in Indonesia dates back to the very origin of the bank, following the trade routes of the Dutch merchant ships of the last century. The bank was founded in 1824, and soon after began its first operations in Batavia (Jakarta) as the Netherlands Trading Society, in 1826.

Now, it has one main branch and five offices in Jakarta and branches in Bandung, Surabaya and Medan. More branches are planned for Semarang, Surakarta, Denpasar and Manado. ABN AMRO Bank serves both individual clients, that is professionals, entrepreneurs and executives; as well as corporate clients, that is multinational, Indonesian private and state-owned corporations.

The bank offers both retail and corporate product ranges: consumer banking, retail capital market products (ShareShop), trade finance, structured finance, treasury, custodial services, corporate cash management, securities, as well as leasing, factoring and venture capital.
